New Director elected for Gidgee Healing

The 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Mount Isa Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services Limited (Gidgee Healing) was held in Mount Isa on 5 December 2025. The meeting heard from the Chair, William Blackley, of Gidgee's immense progress over the past twelve months in terms of governance, service quality and financial security. Mr Blackley advised members of Gidgee's success during 2025 in turning around many aspects of the business after a period of instability.
An interim Annual Report was presented to members, noting that the Board expects to receive audited financial statements for FY25 by 31 December. A Special General Meeting will be held early in 2026 (date to be advised) to present those statements to members, contained within a final Annual Report which will also be available on the Gidgee Healing website.
At the AGM, three members were elected to the Board for a two-year term, including Ms Ikea Speechley being elected for the first time. Two retiring Directors, Ms Valerie Craigie and Ms Margaret Senden, were re-elected to the Board for a further term. We congratulate all returning Directors and look forward to a continuation of the strong cultural and governance leadership being provided to the Gidgee team.
