ummary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Midwife to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of culturally appropriate women's antenatal and postnatal care, supporting the existing high-quality primary health care services throughout Gidgee Healing's geographical footprint.
Responsibilities:
- Provision of clinical services, including antenatal and post-natal care;
- Provide child health education services;
- Health assessments, treatment, and ongoing care;
- Medication management;
- Deliver health programs on breastfeeding and nutrition; and
- Data Administration.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations and standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Midwifery
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
- Child Health Immunisation endorsement.
Selection Criteria:
- Current C Class Drivers License (QLD) – essential.
- Satisfactory police check – no serious Criminal/Court record.
- Current Blue Card (working with children and young people) or willingness to apply.
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccinations (min. of 3 x shots)
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required, including the requirement to travel, work, and stay overnight for up to several days at a time in remote areas.
- Willingness to travel by road and small plane.
- Demonstrated clinic experience, in particular the ability to support a medical/primary health care team, and effectively plan and coordinate own and team’s workload to achieve results.
- An awareness of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Care methodology and the benefits to the community.
- An ability to communicate and empathise with Aboriginal people.
- Understanding of the principles of primary health care.
- Ability to demonstrate good clinical skills.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of professionals and the public, as part of a team.
- An ability to liaise and work with local communities and relevant Government and non-Government organisations.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and understand the Cycle of care Patient system.
