Gidgee Healing provides comprehensive eye health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Mount Isa region, including access to optometry and ophthalmology services. Regular eye examinations are important to maintain good vision, prevent eye disease and treat eye conditions.

The IDEAS Van is a joint initiative of the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC) and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Trust Australia and focuses on improving eye health and preventing eyesight problems for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with diabetes.

Gidgee Healing is pleased to be a hub for the IDEAS Van – a fully equipped mobile ophthalmology and optometry specialist treatment centre, with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools.
