Gidgee Healing works in collaboration with Tropical Medical Training (TMT) to provide Registrars with the opportunity to gain valuable training and experience working within an Aboriginal Medical Service. During your placement, you will be supported by your GP Supervisor and a cultural mentor who will guide you throughout your placement with opportunities to participate in the delivery of culturally-appropriate comprehensive Primary Health Care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through a variety of clinic-based services, community events and outreach to remote communities.

Gidgee Healing offers GP Registrars a unique challenge, working alongside a well-supervised Primary Health Care team including General Practitioners, GP Supervisors, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Nurses, Allied Health and Specialist staff.  Through a multidisciplinary team-based approach, Gidgee Healing supports our clients with a broad range of health issues including Chronic Disease, Maternal and Child Health; Substance Misuse; Social and Emotional Wellbeing; Women’s Health; Men’s Health; Sexual Health; and Health Promotion, Prevention and Early Intervention initiatives.
